About Sandstone Towers of Fabédougou

Among the Domes of Fabédougou, near Banfora in southwestern Burkina Faso, some rocks have been worn into tall towers with sides like stacked pancakes. Each layer is a bed of ancient sand, and the softer layers wear away faster, giving the rocks their ribbed look. In the rainy season the land around turns bright green and small streams run between the rocks. This photo shows two rock towers standing like giant chimneys above the trees.

Puzzle tip: start with the two ribbed rock towers, then the green trees at their feet, and the blue sky last.
