About Snowy Peak at Sunset, Iceland

A snow-covered mountain glows in the low light of a late autumn afternoon in Iceland, above a plain of dark rock, moss and shallow pools. Iceland lies so far north that in midwinter the sun rises only a little above the horizon, giving Reykjavík around four hours of daylight, while in midsummer it barely sets at all. Most of the island's mountains were built by volcanoes, and many were shaped by eruptions under the ice of past glaciers.

Puzzle tip: the white snowy peak is the key piece; the shiny pools in the foreground help you join the dark ground.
