About Colourful Canal Houses, Burano

Burano is an island settlement in the Venetian Lagoon, known for its brightly painted houses and long tradition of lacemaking. Narrow canals divide the neighbourhoods, with small bridges linking streets where boats are moored beside front doors. The colours make individual houses stand out even when they share the same simple shape and tiled roof. In this photograph, a canal runs between rows of green, pink and orange facades, while reflections carry those colours into the water beneath the boats.

Puzzle tip: sort the house colours first, then use the canal edges to separate the reflections from the buildings.
