About Štrbské Pleso in Autumn, High Tatras

Štrbské Pleso is a mountain lake at about 1,350 metres in the High Tatras of northern Slovakia, carved out by a glacier during the last ice age. The High Tatras are the highest part of the Carpathian Mountains and among the smallest high mountain ranges in the world, only about 26 kilometres long, yet their highest peak, Gerlachovský štít, reaches 2,655 metres. In autumn the larches around the lake turn gold; they are conifers that lose their needles every winter.

Puzzle tip: the mountain peaks and the sky are the easiest part; the golden larches and their reflections come next.
