About The Matterhorn, Swiss Alps

The Matterhorn rises to 4,478 metres on the border between Switzerland and Italy, and its sharp, pyramid-like peak is one of the most famous in the Alps. It was first climbed in 1865. This view is from the small Grindjisee lake above Zermatt, where in autumn the larch trees turn gold before dropping their needles, unlike other conifers.

Puzzle tip: start with the snowy peak and its reflection in the middle; the golden larches frame the picture on both sides.
