About Vineyards and Village above Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva, called Lac Léman in French, is the largest lake in the Alps, shared by Switzerland and France. On its sunny northern shore, between Lausanne and Montreux, vineyards cover the slopes above the water; in the Lavaux area the terraces, first built by monks in the Middle Ages, are protected by UNESCO. Across the lake rise the snowy peaks of the Chablais Alps. The lake is about 73 kilometres long, and paddle steamers have crossed it for more than a century.

Puzzle tip: the snowy mountains and the calm lake are a good start; the rows of vines in front come last.
