About The Pigeonnier Corner in Eguisheim

Eguisheim is a wine village in Alsace, a few kilometres south of Colmar, whose lanes run in rings around a castle at its centre. This unusual round plan goes back to the Middle Ages, when the village grew in circles inside its walls. Eguisheim is traditionally said to be the birthplace of Pope Leo IX, born here in 1002. One of its best known sights is the Pigeonnier, a narrow house standing where two curving lanes split apart. In this photo the house, lit by warm lamps, sits between the two cobbled lanes lined with half-timbered houses.

Puzzle tip: start with the yellow house in the middle, then the lanes and the houses on both sides, and finish with the cobblestones.
