About Trishaw on a Street in Malacca

The trishaws of Malacca are bicycle rickshaws decorated with plastic flowers, ribbons and cartoon characters, and many play loud music as they carry visitors around the old town. Behind them stand rows of shophouses, two-storey buildings with a shop below and a home above, many built by the Peranakan, or Straits Chinese, community, whose culture mixes Chinese and Malay traditions. Nearby Jonker Street, in the heart of Chinatown, becomes a busy night market at weekends. In this photo a colourful trishaw passes yellow shophouses with red signs and lanterns on a sunny street.

Puzzle tip: the bright trishaw and the red signs are the clearest details; the shophouse walls come next.
