About Zebra Grazing in Mlilwane

Plains zebras are among the most common animals in Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, where they graze in small family groups on the valley grassland. No two zebras have exactly the same stripes, and scientists still debate why they have them: they may confuse biting flies, help keep the animals cool or help a herd confuse lions. In Mlilwane the zebras are used to people and often let visitors come quite close on foot. This photo shows a zebra grazing on red earth and green grass in the sanctuary.

Puzzle tip: start with the zebra's black and white stripes, then the green grass, and the red earth last.
