About Angola
The Kingdom of Ndongo and its famous Queen Njinga resisted the Portuguese in the 17th century. Portugal ruled the land for almost 400 years, until independence in 1975, which was followed by a long civil war that ended in 2002. Portuguese is the official language, and Luanda is one of the largest Portuguese-speaking cities in the world.
You can assemble the Kalandula Falls in Malanje, the hairpin road over the Serra da Leba, the Tundavala Gap and other cliffs of the Huíla plateau, a breakwater on the beach in Luanda and a welwitschia in the Namib Desert.
