French Polynesia is a group of 118 islands and atolls in the South Pacific, spread across an area of ocean about as large as Western Europe. Our French Polynesia puzzles show Bora Bora and its neighbours: turquoise lagoons, white beaches, coconut palms and thatched bungalows standing on stilts above the water.

The islands form five archipelagos, and the best known are the Society Islands, home to Tahiti, Moorea, Huahine and Bora Bora. They are an overseas collectivity of France, so French is spoken alongside Tahitian, and the capital, Papeete, lies on Tahiti. The painter Paul Gauguin lived and worked here at the end of the 19th century, and the word "tattoo" comes from the Tahitian word tatau.
Every puzzle comes with a short text about the place, so you can learn a little about the islands of the Pacific while you put the pieces together.
