Mauritania Puzzles

Mauritania lies on the Atlantic coast of northwest Africa, where the Sahara meets the sea; most of the country is desert, with dunes, rocky plateaus and palm oases. Our Mauritania puzzles show its old caravan towns, oases and capital.

About Mauritania

For centuries caravans of camels crossed this land carrying salt, gold and books, and towns such as Chinguetti and Ouadane grew rich and learned along their routes. Many Mauritanians were nomads until recent times. France ruled the country until 1960, when it became independent with its new capital, Nouakchott.

You can assemble the stone mosque of Chinguetti, the old walls of Ouadane, a stone hut among the palms of the Terjit oasis and Nouakchott at sunset.
