About Colourful Hillsides of Guanajuato

Guanajuato grew rich from its silver mines, which in the 18th century were among the most productive in the world. The city fills a narrow valley, and its houses, painted in bright colours, climb the steep hills on every side. Many of its roads run through tunnels under the old town, some of them in the old bed of a river. The historic town and its mines are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Puzzle tip: sort the houses by colour first; the blue sky and the distant hills come last.
