About Tulum Ruins by the Caribbean Sea

Tulum was one of the last cities built by the Maya, and it was at its height between the 13th and 15th centuries. It is one of the few Maya cities on the coast: stone walls protect it on three sides, and on the fourth a cliff drops to the Caribbean Sea. Its main building, El Castillo, stands at the edge of the cliff and may have guided canoes through a gap in the reef.

Puzzle tip: the grey temple on the cliff is the centre; sort the sea by its bands of turquoise and blue.
