About Cherry Blossoms and Mount Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi

Lake Kawaguchi is one of the Fuji Five Lakes, which lie at the northern foot of Mount Fuji. In spring, cherry trees bloom along its shore, framing the snowy mountain across the water. Cherry blossom, or sakura, is a beloved symbol of Japan: the flowers open in late March or April in most of the country and last only a week or two. Families and friends gather under the trees for picnics called hanami, which means "flower viewing".

Puzzle tip: Mount Fuji's white peak is the key piece; the pink blossoms and branches are the hardest part, so leave them for last.
