About Glencoe in Autumn, Scottish Highlands

Glencoe is a dramatic glen in the Scottish Highlands, guarded by the steep ridges known as the Three Sisters. Its mountains are the remains of an ancient volcano that collapsed into itself some 420 million years ago, later carved by glaciers. In autumn the bracken on the slopes turns a rich rusty brown. The glen is also remembered for the Massacre of Glencoe in 1692, when soldiers who had been guests of the MacDonald clan turned on their hosts.

Puzzle tip: the dark mountain peaks against the sky are the clearest shapes; the brown slopes are best sorted by shade.
