About Spring Tulips at Butchart Gardens, Victoria

Butchart Gardens, near Victoria on Vancouver Island, began in 1904 when Jennie Butchart decided to turn her husband's worked-out limestone quarry into a garden. Today the gardens cover about 22 hectares and include the Sunken Garden, a Japanese Garden, an Italian Garden and a Rose Garden, and they are a National Historic Site of Canada. More than a million bedding plants are planted each year so that something is always in bloom. In this photo red and white tulips fill a spring flower bed beside the paths.

Puzzle tip: start with the red and white tulips, then the green leaves, and finish with the background.
