About Fjord Cliffs in Gros Morne National Park

Gros Morne National Park, on the west coast of Newfoundland, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Its Tablelands are one of the few places on Earth where rock from the Earth's mantle lies exposed on the surface, which helped scientists confirm the theory of plate tectonics. Glaciers carved deep fjords into the Long Range Mountains, among them Western Brook Pond, a freshwater fjord with cliffs about 600 metres high. In this photo steep, misty mountains rise above shimmering water.

Puzzle tip: start with the shapes of the cliffs against the sky, then the darker slopes, and finish with the water.
