About Kobe Harbour and Port Tower

Kobe lies on a narrow strip of land between the Rokko mountains and Osaka Bay, and its port, opened to foreign ships in 1868, made it one of Japan's most international cities. Its symbol is the red Kobe Port Tower, 108 metres tall, built in 1963 in the shape of a traditional hand drum. The city was badly damaged by the Great Hanshin earthquake in 1995 and was rebuilt. This photo looks across the harbour to the tower, the waterfront and the clouds above the hills.

Puzzle tip: start with the red tower, then the white buildings on the waterfront, and finish with the water and the clouds.
