About The Avenue to Château de Chambord

Although Francis I spent only a few weeks at Chambord in his whole reign, the château became a symbol of the French Renaissance, mixing French medieval towers with Italian ideas of symmetry. Later kings used it rarely, and it was often left empty; during the Second World War, paintings from the Louvre, including the Mona Lisa for a time, were stored here for safety. Today the château and its park belong to the French state. This photo looks down the long straight avenue across the lawns to the château's main front.

Puzzle tip: start with the château and its roof in the middle, then the green lawns, and finish with the path and the clouds.
