About Rocamadour above the Alzou Valley

Rocamadour is built on three levels: the village with its single main street at the bottom, the group of seven sanctuaries halfway up, and the castle that guards them at the top. The Chapel of Our Lady holds a small Black Madonna carved from walnut wood, said to date from the twelfth century, and above its door hangs an iron bell believed to ring by itself when sailors in danger prayed to her. Today Rocamadour is one of the most visited villages in France. In this photo it rises from the green valley in tiers of pale stone.

Puzzle tip: start with the castle and the church on top, then the cliff and the houses, and finish with the green trees and the clouds.
