About Waves on Aruba’s Rocky Shore

Aruba's shoreline is not all sand. In many places, low rocks meet the Caribbean Sea and waves break into white foam against them. This photograph shows that rougher side of the island. The dark stone, blue water and moving surf form distinct parts of the image, making it well suited to a jigsaw puzzle. Aruba's dry climate and persistent trade winds are part of the landscape too, even when they cannot be seen directly. Much of Aruba's coast is edged with coral limestone, the remains of ancient reefs lifted above the sea.

Puzzle tip: follow the white foam around the rocks before filling in the blue water.
