About Roman Temples of Baalbek

Baalbek, in the Bekaa Valley of eastern Lebanon, was known to the Romans as Heliopolis, the "City of the Sun". Over about two centuries they built here one of the largest temple complexes of the Roman world. Six huge columns, some 20 metres tall, still stand from the Temple of Jupiter, and the nearby Temple of Bacchus is one of the best preserved Roman temples anywhere. Some of the stone blocks in the foundations weigh around 800 tonnes. Baalbek has been a World Heritage Site since 1984.

Puzzle tip: the columns and walls have clear edges, so build them first; the sky and the open ground come last.
