About Glass Dome of Galleria Umberto I, Naples

Galleria Umberto I is a covered shopping arcade close to the Royal Palace and Teatro San Carlo in Naples. Built in the late nineteenth century, it brings together richly decorated masonry and a roof supported by iron and glass. Its passages meet beneath a tall central dome, creating an indoor public space that feels connected to the streets outside. This upward-looking photograph turns the dome into a geometric pattern, with radiating metal ribs, blue sky and tiers of windows framed by warm stone decoration.

Puzzle tip: start at the centre of the glass dome and follow its metal ribs out towards the surrounding windows.
