About Metropolitan Cathedral of Asunción

Asunción was founded in 1537 and is one of the oldest cities in South America; it is sometimes called the mother of cities, because expeditions from here went on to found other towns, including Buenos Aires in its second founding. Its cathedral, dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption, stands on the Plaza de la Independencia near the river. The present building, in a simple neoclassical style, was completed in the 1840s on the site of earlier churches. This photo shows its white and pink front with two bell towers and a clock under a bright blue sky.

Puzzle tip: start with the clock and the two bell towers, then the white and pink front and the blue sky.
