About Ribe River at Sunset

Ribe stands on a small river near the marshes of the Wadden Sea, and in Viking times ships sailed up from the sea to its market. Today the old town is one of the best preserved in Denmark, with crooked half-timbered houses, cobbled lanes and a night watchman who still walks the streets in the evening, singing the old songs for visitors. Just outside the town, the Ribe Viking Centre recreates a Viking market and farm. In this photo the evening sky glows over the river, with small boats moored beside the old houses and the reeds.

Puzzle tip: start with the bright sky and its reflection in the water, then the boats, the houses and the green reeds.
