About Harald Bluetooth's Rune Stone, Jelling

The larger of the two Jelling stones was raised around 965 by King Harald Bluetooth in memory of his parents, Gorm and Thyra. Its runic text says that Harald won all of Denmark and Norway for himself and made the Danes Christian, which is why the stone is often called Denmark's birth certificate. One of its sides shows the oldest known image of Christ in Scandinavia. Harald's nickname lives on today: the wireless technology Bluetooth is named after him, and its logo joins his two runic initials. This photo shows the huge granite stone carved with lines of runes.

Puzzle tip: start with the lines of runes on the grey stone, then the white wall and the paving around it.
