About Lake Biaó, Bioko Island

Bioko, the island where Equatorial Guinea's capital stands, is made of three old volcanoes rising out of the Gulf of Guinea. Lake Biaó fills the crater of one of them, high in the cool, misty mountains of the south of the island, surrounded by cloud forest. The southern highlands are protected as a nature reserve, home to rare monkeys such as the drill and the Bioko red colobus, and sea turtles nest on the beaches below. This photo shows the round crater lake framed by green forested slopes.

Puzzle tip: start with the grey-blue lake, then the dark green slopes around it, and the bushes in front and the sky last.
