About Pirogues on Arena Blanca Beach, Bioko

Arena Blanca, on the southwest coast of Bioko near the town of Luba, is one of the few beaches of white sand on an island where most beaches are dark and volcanic. It is famous for the clouds of butterflies that gather here in the dry season, from about December to February, and on weekends families from Malabo come to swim and eat grilled fish. Local fishermen keep their wooden canoes, called cayucos, on the sand. This photo shows several dugout canoes drawn up on the beach under the trees.

Puzzle tip: start with the canoes and their colours, then the trees and the houses behind, and the sand and the sea last.
