About Painted Pirogue on a Beach in Dakar

Senegal's fishermen go to sea in long wooden canoes called pirogues, painted in bright colours and patterns, often with flags, names and religious phrases. At the end of the day the boats are pulled up onto the beaches of Dakar and other coastal towns, where the catch is sold straight from the sand. Fishing is one of the most important jobs in Senegal.

Puzzle tip: the painted patterns on the boat are easy to place; the sand needs patience.
