About Valley of the Moon, Atacama

The Valley of the Moon, near San Pedro de Atacama, is a landscape of sharp ridges, salt crusts and sand dunes shaped by wind and water over millions of years. It lies in the Atacama Desert, one of the driest places on Earth, where some weather stations have never recorded rain. At sunset the rocks turn gold, pink and purple.

Puzzle tip: the lit ridges and the dark shadows make strong shapes; sort them first.
