About A Turf-Roofed Cabin in Loen

Turf roofs, covered with a layer of soil and growing grass, have been used in Norway for centuries. Under the turf lies a layer of birch bark that keeps the water out, while the heavy soil holds the roof down in storms and keeps the house warm in winter. Old farms and summer pastures around Loen still have such cabins, and many new holiday homes are built in the same way. In this photo a weathered log cabin stands close in the foreground, and another with a grassy roof sits beside a small tree above the fjord and the snowy mountains.

Puzzle tip: start with the wooden wall in the front, then the cabin with the grassy roof, and finish with the fjord and the mountains.
