About Old Town of Bissau

Bissau Velho, Old Bissau, is the historic heart of the capital of Guinea-Bissau, laid out by the Portuguese near the harbour on the estuary of the Geba River. Its streets are lined with colonial houses with arcades, balconies and pastel walls, some of them restored and others slowly crumbling, and nearby stands the Fortaleza de São José da Amura, an 18th-century fort. Portuguese is the official language, but most people speak Guinea-Bissau Creole, called Kriol, in daily life. This photo shows a street of old colourful buildings in Bissau Velho.

Puzzle tip: start with the colourful buildings and their windows, then the street, and the sky last.
