About Palms on the Path to Varela Beach

Varela, in the far northwest of Guinea-Bissau close to the border with Senegal, is a small village known for its long, quiet beaches, among the most beautiful in the country. A sandy footpath leads from the village through palm groves, cashew trees and bush to the Atlantic shore. Cashew nuts are Guinea-Bissau's main export, and in the harvest season the air smells of ripe cashew apples, which are also made into juice and wine. This photo shows tall palm trees and green bush along the path from Varela to the beach.

Puzzle tip: start with the palm trees and their leaves, then the green bush, and the sandy path and the sky last.
