About Blue Nile Falls, Ethiopia

The Blue Nile Falls, called Tis Abay or "great smoke" in Amharic, lie about 30 kilometres downstream from Lake Tana, where the Blue Nile begins its long journey to meet the White Nile in Sudan. In the rainy season the falls spread out into a curtain of water hundreds of metres wide, throwing up clouds of spray and rainbows.

Puzzle tip: the white water is easy to follow; the green forest needs patience.
