About Boats on a White Sandbar, Comoros

The Comoros are a chain of volcanic islands in the Indian Ocean, in the Mozambique Channel between Mozambique and Madagascar. The country is made up of three islands, Grande Comore, Mohéli and Anjouan, ringed by coral reefs, white and black sand beaches and clear turquoise water. Fishing is part of daily life, and many fishermen still go out in narrow wooden outrigger canoes. This aerial photo shows boats pulled up on a curving white sandbar, with dark reefs and turquoise sea all around.

Puzzle tip: start with the boats and the white sand, then the dry trees on the shore, and the turquoise water last.
