About Brimstone Hill Fortress, Saint Kitts

Brimstone Hill Fortress sits on a steep volcanic hill about 240 metres above the west coast of Saint Kitts. The British built it over about a hundred years from the 1690s, using the labour of enslaved Africans, and it was so strong that it was called the Gibraltar of the West Indies. French forces still captured it after a month-long siege in 1782, but it was returned the next year. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Puzzle tip: the dark stone walls are the centre; the sky and the clouds come next.
