About Canola Fields near Estevan, Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan is the heart of Canada's farmland, with about 40 percent of all the country's cropland, and in summer its flat prairie turns into a patchwork of wheat, lentils and canola. Canola itself is a Canadian invention: in the 1970s plant breeders in Saskatchewan and Manitoba developed a healthier type of rapeseed and named it after Canada and oil. Today it is one of the country's most valuable crops, used for cooking oil and animal feed. Estevan, in the south-east of the province near the US border, calls itself the sunshine capital of Canada. In this photo the fields stretch flat to the horizon under a blue sky with white clouds.

Puzzle tip: start with the white clouds and the line of the horizon, then fill in the fields from the top down.
