About Clock Tower and Ramparts of Galle Fort

Galle Fort stands on a rocky peninsula on the south-west coast of Sri Lanka. The Portuguese built the first fort here in the late sixteenth century, and the Dutch, who took it in 1640, rebuilt it with the massive stone ramparts that still surround the old town. Inside, streets of colonial houses, churches, a mosque and small shops survive, and the whole fort has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. The clock tower was added in 1883 near the main gate. This photo shows the tower beside the grassy ramparts under a blue sky.

Puzzle tip: start with the clock tower and the old wall, then fill the green ramparts and the sky.
