About Dubrovnik Old Town Walls

Dubrovnik, on Croatia's Adriatic coast, was for centuries the heart of the independent Republic of Ragusa, a rich trading city-state. Its old town is enclosed by stone walls almost two kilometres long, most of them built between the 12th and 17th centuries, and you can still walk right around the top of them. The old town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.

Puzzle tip: the orange roofs and the pale walls stand out clearly from the deep blue sea around them.
