About Fishing Boats on the Beach of Cox’s Bazar

Cox's Bazar, in the far south-east of Bangladesh, has one of the longest natural sandy beaches in the world, running for about 120 kilometres along the Bay of Bengal. The town is named after Captain Hiram Cox, a British officer who worked here in the 1790s and founded a market for refugees from the neighbouring kingdom of Arakan. Fishing is still a way of life along the shore. The wooden boats, with their high, curved bows and bright paint, are pulled up onto the sand between trips, as in this photo.

Puzzle tip: the colourful boats are the easiest part; the wide sand and the sky are best sorted by their light and shade.
