About Floating Market, Thailand

Floating markets were once part of daily life in central Thailand, where canals were the main roads. Vendors paddle small wooden boats piled with fruit, vegetables, noodles and flowers, selling to customers on the banks and in other boats. Markets such as Damnoen Saduak, south-west of Bangkok, keep the tradition alive and are busiest early in the morning.

Puzzle tip: the umbrellas and boats give lots of colour; the canal water comes last.
