About Golden Jellyfish in Jellyfish Lake, Eil Malk

Jellyfish Lake lies on the island of Eil Malk in the Rock Islands. It is a marine lake: salt water seeps in from the sea through cracks in the limestone, but the lake is cut off from the open lagoon. Millions of golden jellyfish live here and swim across the lake every day, following the sun, because tiny algae living inside them need light. Their sting is too weak for people to feel, so visitors can snorkel among them. After a drought in 2016 their numbers fell sharply, and the lake was closed until they recovered. This photo shows the jellyfish drifting in green water.

Puzzle tip: start with the nearest big jellyfish, then fill the green water with the smaller and fainter ones behind.
