About Islands of Marovo Lagoon

Marovo Lagoon, in the New Georgia islands of the Western Province, is often described as one of the largest saltwater lagoons in the world. It is protected by a double chain of barrier islands and holds hundreds of small, forested islets, coral reefs and mangrove channels. Villages around the lagoon are known for their woodcarvings, made from dark ebony and decorated with pieces of shining nautilus shell. Visitors travel between the islands by canoe or small motorboat, and the clear water makes it a popular place for diving and snorkelling.

Puzzle tip: start with the green islets and their reflections; the calm water and the sky are the hardest pieces.
