About Itsukushima Torii at High Tide

Itsukushima Shrine and its sea gate stand on the edge of the Seto Inland Sea, close to the city of Hiroshima, and together with the forested island behind them they are a World Heritage Site. The shrine is said to have been founded in the sixth century, and its present layout dates from 1168. Tame deer wander through the island's village and along the shore. In this photo the red gate stands in calm blue water, with the hills of the mainland on the horizon.

Puzzle tip: start with the red torii and its reflection, then the hills and the far shore, and finish with the sky.
