About Lobé Falls Meeting the Atlantic, Kribi

The Lobé Falls, a few kilometres south of the beach town of Kribi, are one of the very few waterfalls in the world that pour straight into the sea. The Lobé River spreads out over a wide shelf of rock and falls in many white streams onto the beach of the Atlantic Ocean. Fishermen paddle visitors in wooden canoes to the foot of the falls, and the place is sacred to the local Batanga people. This aerial photo shows the river, the falls and the forest around them.

Puzzle tip: start with the white foam of the falls, then the dark river and the green forest, and the sea last.
