About Naqsh-e Jahan Square, Isfahan

Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan was laid out by Shah Abbas I at the beginning of the 17th century, when Isfahan was the capital of Persia. It is one of the largest city squares in the world, surrounded by two-storey arcades of shops. On its sides stand the Shah Mosque, the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque with its cream-coloured dome and the Ali Qapu Palace. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Puzzle tip: the dome is the landmark; the long arcades have repeating patterns, so look closely at each piece.
