About Ruins of Dunluce Castle on the Antrim Coast

Dunluce Castle stands on the very edge of a basalt cliff on the north coast of County Antrim, in Northern Ireland, joined to the mainland by a narrow bridge. It was a stronghold of the MacDonnell clan in the 16th and 17th centuries. A famous story tells that one stormy night part of the kitchen fell into the sea below, taking the cooks with it, and the castle was abandoned later that century. Its broken walls and empty windows are among the most photographed ruins in Ireland. In this photo they stand against the evening sky above the sea.

Puzzle tip: the ruined walls are the centre of the picture; the sky and the dark grass are wide, even areas.
