About Pink and Green Aurora over Glen Coe, Scotland

A walker stands on a hilltop in Glen Coe while a wall of pink, violet and green aurora glows over the Scottish Highlands. Glen Coe is a deep valley carved by glaciers out of the remains of an ancient volcano, and it is remembered for the massacre of 1692, when soldiers killed members of the MacDonald clan who had given them shelter. Scotland lies far enough north to see the aurora several times a year, and in Shetland the lights are called the "mirrie dancers".

Puzzle tip: the bright yellow-green band near the horizon is the easiest part; the pink sky above is best sorted from light to dark.
