About Santa Maria della Salute, Venice

The great domed church of Santa Maria della Salute stands at the entrance to the Grand Canal. It was built as a thank-you after a terrible plague in 1630 killed about a third of the people of Venice. Every November, Venetians still walk to the church across a temporary bridge of boats to celebrate the Festa della Salute.

Puzzle tip: the white domes are the heart of the picture; the red roofs and the blue sky follow.
